Prague is beautiful. The city sits on two sides of the Vltava River with a beautiful castle on top of a hill and red rooftops on colorful buildings. We were so lucky to have an entire week to explore the city. In that time, we found the best view in Prague. And we are nice enough to share it with you.

the best view in Prague

Wandering through all of old town and along the river, we took in so many beautiful sights. We walked through parks and took in gorgeous views from every angle.

It wasn’t until we got to this spot that we decided we had found the best view in Prague. The Prague Castle is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the city. The crowds can be a little overwhelming on the backside of the castle where the views are incredible.

We fought our way through the crowds and found a vineyard on the side of the hill. It was a little further away from the castle entrance, but easy to get to. There were a couple people sipping on wine, but crowds were non existent there compared to the viewing platform 50 meters away.

As the sun set, we sipped on red wine and watched the city turn golden. We were able to sit on the stone wall and take in the views of old town, the river and the castle behind us.

Of all the hilltops in Prague, this was my favorite view – the best view in Prague. For an hour, we just sat and took it all in. The sun rays shifted over the rooftops until it dipped below the castle walls. In an instant, everything turned to a beautiful shade of gold.

Maybe it was the perfect fall weather, the colorful leaves all around or the tasty red wine in hand, everything just felt right.
