Indonesia has over 17,000 islands and that's the reason there isn't a map on this page. We spent our whole month just exploring one tiny little island - Bali. It is a magical place and very different from the rest of the country.

The entire island of Bali shuts down for one day each year for the day of silence. This includes the airport, beaches and the roads.
Most of Indonesia is Muslim, but Bali is a Hindu majority. The temples here are amazing.
Bali is located in the Coral Triangle which means its waters have a huge variety of living creatures making it a great place to snorkel and dive.
There are active volcanoes on this island. Agung and Batur have both erupted this century and remind people often that they are awake.
