Best Meal

Steph – Plum Dumplings. I thought that the Pierogies couldn’t be topped, but they were. Two nights in a row, we visited the same Slovak restaurant, Reštaurácia u Lenky, and ordered a plate of vegetables and a plate of Plum Dumplings to go with them. Sure, they are supposed to be dessert, but they were on the vegetarian section of the menu and came topped with nuts (protein).

Justin – Mmm, Targowa in Wroclaw, Poland. This was kind of a hipster craft brew hall that had a decent sized menu. Despite the largely non-vegetarian friendly dishes in Poland we were able to find this gem. We ordered two items to share (and our own large beers, obviously) and they combined to make my favorite meal of the month. We shared Honey-Glazed Camembert and some baked pancakes. On the surface this didn’t sound like it would be that wonderful. But the two plates that arrived we sensational. The baked pancakes were covered with spinach, korycinski cheese and tomato. The camembert, well, this was in a league all its own with the whole plate of veggies that accompanied it. No words, just see the photo below.

Our Peak

Steph – Wroclaw. The city just blew me away. It wasn’t on our original list, but it was a good stopping point after Prague and we found an awesome AirBnB for $30/night. We had a few beautifully foggy days exploring the canals, colorful townhouses and gorgeous cathedrals. The reason it was my peak was just the pure surprise at how wonderful it was. Going into a place with zero expectations and being completely smitten

Justin – Our seven mile hike in the High Tatras was not only a peak for me this month but it was actually my favorite moment of the trip. Along the hike there is an amazing symbolic cemetery honoring all that have died in these mountains. The views are stunning and the route, since we started early, was quiet and serene. This is quite possibly the prettiest place we have been. I’d have to go through 7 months worth of photos though to back that statement up and I’m not going to do that now so just take my word for it…it is gorgeous.

Our Pit

Steph and Justin – We clicked purchase on the plane tickets that will bring us back to the US. While we are excited to see our people and start exploring our home country, clicking the purchase button felt painful.

Grateful to have…

StephThis night cream. Winter is coming and we are no longer in the humid Thai islands. My skin would turn into something resembling a lizard if it wasn’t for this.

Justin – Cheap wine.

Missing this…

StephThis big fluffy sweatshirt. It’s in a box back home and I can’t wait to pull it out. I might even buy another, because it’s 50% off right now and that sounds like an amazing Christmas present.

Justin – Personal space as it is specifically related to grocery stores. They’re really small here. And I have broad shoulders so the navigation with dozens of people around me in close quarters causes me stress. Add to that I cannot read labels so it does get trying for me at times. I do look forward to American grocery stores that provide ample thinking room for someone like me. Does this make me a terrible person?
