Southeast Asia is one of the best places to explore as a backpacker. We slowly moved through Indonesia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Thailand, and Singapore for three months. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend going in the months of June and July like we did, but it’s absolutely an area of the world you should visit.
We spent our time exploring temples, hiking through jungles, cooling off in air-conditioned museums, and eating wild new foods. Outside of Singapore, the lodging and food prices were so low that we were able to eat out more often and enjoy all the tourist attractions.
